Brotherhood Captures Third Straight Series Title in Sydney, Extends Lead at the IDL Season Midpoint

Los Angeles, CA (June 22, 2026) - International Dance League, Inc. (IDL), the first global professional dance league, brought the Sydney Series, the third stop of the 2026 Season, to the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia. Fans from around the globe could also livestream it on YouTube. Since the season launch in May, IDL has generated more than 350 million views and impressions across platforms and sold out three of three events. Photo assets from the event can be found here.
The night began with the Community Division, split into the Junior Division (<18) and the Adult Division (18+) categories, giving emerging teams and talent the opportunity to compete in front of a live audience and earn prize money. In the Junior Division, Sydney-based team The Kookies JV claimed first place in front of a home crowd, followed by New Zealand teams Space Studios in second and Retaliate third. In the Adult Division, New Zealand’s ID Co took the top spot, with Brisbane’s The Home Base placing second and Papua New Guinea’s popular Wan Squad completing the podium in third.
The night then shifted to the professional competition, where IDL’s six founding teams representing major global dance hubs including Brotherhood (Vancouver, Canada), Quick Style (Oslo, Norway), Jam Republic (Singapore), GRV (Los Angeles, USA), Royal Family (Auckland, New Zealand) and 1MILLION (Seoul, South Korea) competed for the Sydney Series crown. For the third consecutive series,
Brotherhood continued its dominant run, capturing first place in Sydney and remaining undefeated through the first three events of the season. However, the gap between the league leaders and the rest of the field narrowed considerably as teams continued to adapt to IDL’s competitive format and elevate their performances. GRV delivered its strongest result of the season, finishing second in the Sydney Series and making a significant jump in the overall standings, moving from sixth place to third overall. Meanwhile, 1MILLION secured a third-place finish for the second consecutive series, building valuable momentum as the team prepares to compete on home turf at the upcoming Seoul Series.
At the halfway point of the 2026 Season, Brotherhood remains atop the overall standings, while the battle behind them remains wide open with Seoul and Los Angeles still to come. With valuable points still on the table and championship ambitions alive across the league, the intensity will only rise as teams compete to shape the outcome of IDL’s historic first season.

Ahead of competition night, the league hosted its Sydney Series press conference featuring CEO and Commissioner of IDL, Connor Lim, as well as team captains and representatives from all six teams. The event gave fans an inside look at team dynamics, adjustments made across the first three series, and what’s at stake entering the latter part of the season.
Connor Lim, CEO, Commissioner and Co-Founder of IDL: “IDL is working. The hypothesis is playing out. We believe that dance fans have always wanted to support teams the way that they support other sporting teams and IDL provides that space. Growing up, I always loved watching specific teams, replaying my favorite plays over and over again. That's what is happening with the IDL. Having numbers on players for fans to actually understand who's doing what. I think that's something that's playing out. You can see it in the comments - people are like, "Oh, who's number 14 or who's number 12?" IDL is changing the way that people are consuming dance.”
Brotherhood’s Team Captain, Adrian Vendiola: “We've been competing against Royal Family since 2013. For us, they were the team setting the standards and setting their legacy. As scary as it is, this is a real honor to be able to be in IDL and have our name against theirs. This is a really special moment for us.”
GRV’s Creative Director, Marc Dizon: ”Building two different routines is very complex compared to just building a full five minute routine. It needs to have a story line, something that can pace, which the judges and audience understands. We really used the first few events to just feel out what's working, what's not working, what the crowd, the judges resonate with, what they don't. We're continuously elevating ourselves with every event.”
Tickets for the next series, August 1 in Seoul, South Korea will be on sale soon.
