The IDL Founding Partnership grows Honda’s relationship with the dance community, highlighted by unforgettable IDL moments for fans available on Honda Stage
Los Angeles, CA (April 8, 2026) – The IDL today announced that Honda will serve as Founding Partner of the international dance league’s inaugural season, as it launches a new global competitive dance platform this spring. The partnership builds on the Honda brand’s relationship with the dance community and marks a major milestone for the IDL.
“We appreciate Honda’s commitment to the sport of dance and the recognition IDL gives to the creativity that fuels its athletes on the global stage," said Connor Lim, Co-Founder and CEO of IDL. "Together, we'll build moments this season that put competitive dance in the same conversation as the world's most elite sports - exactly where it belongs."
“The IDL is redefining competitive dance on the global stage and Honda is proud to be part of this movement,” said Megan Amic, Manager of Media Strategy, American Honda. “The Honda Stage platform enables us to highlight the creativity and cultural expression of dance, while bringing fans closer to the IDL athletes who are defining the sport.”
Honda IDL Founding Partnership
As a Founding Partner, Honda will play a key role in supporting the IDL’s competitive debut, helping bring the energy of competitive dance to audiences around the world. The 360-degree partnership will be integrated across the IDL ecosystem, including event activations, broadcast and digital content, athlete storytelling, community engagement and fan experiences throughout the inaugural season. Honda also will serve as the official jersey sponsor for all IDL Pro-Teams competing throughout the season, along with branding featured directly on the stage alongside some of the world's top dance athletes.
IDL Inaugural Season Details
The IDL’s inaugural season will feature six of the most influential and accomplished professional dance teams in the world. Global competition begins May 2 – across six events including New York (USA), Vancouver (Canada), Sydney (Australia), Seoul (South Korea), and two in Los Angeles (USA).
Each upcoming IDL event will have standardized judging and a championship title modeled after traditional professional sports leagues, with a season champion crowned at the finale. Fans can expect high-level athletic performances, cultural expression and live entertainment – catering to both in-person audiences and global digital viewership.
Designed as a scalable global league, the IDL is building the foundation for long-term international growth across teams, cities, and audiences.
